SoftHuddle · Physical AI Characters

We give AI a body—and character.

SoftHuddle brings together artificial intelligence, character design, and expressive robotics to build physical characters that converse, remember, respond to touch, and communicate through coordinated movement.

BoBo is our first physical AI character.

Beyond the Screen

AI has learned to talk. We are teaching it how to be present.

Founded in 2025, SoftHuddle develops physical AI characters at the intersection of artificial intelligence, character design, and expressive robotics.

Most AI interaction still ends at a screen or speaker. SoftHuddle explores what changes when intelligence can turn toward someone, remember shared context, respond to touch, and express meaning through gesture and posture.

We focus on characters, not human replicas—approachable physical forms with clear personality and expressive body language.

01

Why SoftHuddle

SoftHuddle combines the warmth of soft physical interaction with the closeness of a huddle—a space where people can come closer, open up, and feel connected.

02

The Story of BoBo

BoBo is imagined as a small traveler who has crossed a long way in search of a place to belong. Its journey begins by learning how to be present through conversation, memory, touch, and movement.

Team Behind BoBo

SoftHuddle is built by a multidisciplinary team combining robotics, artificial intelligence, engineering, user understanding, and character design to create the next generation of physical AI characters.

Dr. Wang

Founder & Robotics Lead

PhD in Robotics, Imperial College London.

Dr. Wang leads robotics design, modeling, control, and physical AI development, combining advanced robotics research with artificial intelligence to create a new generation of physical AI characters.

Dr. Zhao

Co-Founder & Market Strategy Lead

PhD in Economics, University of Birmingham.

Dr. Zhao brings expertise in health economics, mental health, and healthcare utilisation to understanding user needs and shaping meaningful technology experiences.

Ms. Gu

Character Design & Creative Lead

Ms. Gu specializes in cartoon and animation design, leading SoftHuddle’s character identity, visual storytelling, animation style, and creative content development.

SoftHuddle is supported by engineers and designers across mechanical systems, electronics, software, AI integration, and creative development.

Designed as One System

Intelligence, character, and movement—built together.

An AI character should not feel like a chatbot placed inside a moving shell. SoftHuddle designs personality, memory, touch, timing, eyes, voice, and motion as one continuous character system.

01

Character Intelligence

Context-aware conversation, persistent memory, and a consistent character identity shape every interaction.

02

Physical Expression

Voice, animated eyes, and posture work together so the character responds as a whole.

03

Physical Interaction

A soft physical form and touch-responsive behavior bring interaction into the room rather than leaving it behind a screen.

Our First Character

Meet BoBo.

BoBo is SoftHuddle’s first physical AI character.

It listens, remembers, responds to touch, and expresses itself through voice, animated eyes, arm/head movement, posture and touch interactions.

BoBo explores what becomes possible when intelligence is designed as a character with a body from the beginning—not added to a device afterward.
